Hey Tattooed Fans and Friends! I took a little “time out” from blogging to learn about Twitter! Plus I needed a little break after the Alamo City Tattoo Show…

While I am NOT A twitter EXPERT, I have learned a great deal about Twitter over the past week. If you’re unfamiliar with twitter, here’s a SHORT overview of how it works…

Twitter can be a useful tool to share information, a fun way to interact with “real” or “online” friends (called Followers) or if misused, it can be an VERY annoying COMPLETE WASTE OF TIME!

What is twitter and Why Should I use it?

Think of twitter as a GIANT bulletin board (like World Wide giant) where you can exchange SHORT (140 characters) messages with those you choose to “follow”. Kinda like MySpace only WITHOUT the Pictures and Glitter. You send (and receive) these short messages (called “tweets”) from your computer or your phone. Very simple, at least it CAN be. BUT…

Think before you Tweet! Please don’t answer the Twitter question, “What are you doing?” every two minutes; you’ll just annoy me (and ALL of your followers)! It’s called TWITTER OVERLOAD. AND if you’re ‘doing’ something stupid or illegal - keep it to yourself! Remember that Twitter messages are archived and searchable - forever.

BUT! If you’d like a TWEET every now and then about Tattoos, Tattoo Events or Tattoo Blog updates, then I hope you’ll CLICK HERE! and FOLLOW THE TATTOOED BLOGGER on TWITTER!

Shop Talk - Mujeres Ink

Hey Tattooed Fans and Friends! Meet Flaca, Tattoo Artist and Co-Owner of MUJERES INK the new “all female” Tattoo and Piercing Shop on N. Main near SAC. When Flaca was a toddler, she got hold of a pencil and instead of chewing on it (like you and I did) she started to DRAW. Pencils led to Crayons and Crayons led to ART Classes, Fine Art and eventually Ink on Skin! Most recently at The Jaded Dragon in Killeen. And now here in San Antonio at MUJERES INK.

Co-Owners Flaca and Liza recently opened Mujeres Ink, a full-service tattoo and body-piercing studio completely owned and operated by women. Flaca is the driving force behind the Body Art and Body Modification side of the house, while Liza handles the bookkeeping and day-to-day operations of their joint venture.

The shop is located at 1621 N Main Street, Suite 8 San Antonio, TX 78212-4353 near San Antonio College (SAC). Travel down N. Main until you see the SUBWAY across from ZEBRA’S. The shop faces the parking lot BEHIND Subway!

The newly remodeled Tattoo and Piercing Shop is well-lit, cool, clean (SPOTLESS!) and very, very PINK! But don’t be confused by its pinkness…although the Shop is owned and operated by women, they Ink everybody - guys and girls. And Guys, if you can handle the pinkness, it’s a great place to get ORIGINAL Tattoo ART at a reasonable price! “We understand that many of our college students are on a budget and that times are tough, that’s why we offer very competitive prices.”

MUJERES INK stocks a wide variety of stainless steel jewelry for your eyebrow, belly, lip, tongue, and ear piercings and can special order gold and silver jewelry. They also stock a complete line of Tattoo After-Care products.

Mujeres Ink is open Monday-Thursday 11am-9pm, Friday 11am-midnight (or later) and Saturdays 4pm-midnight (or later). Closed Sundays. Stop in the new shop and meet Liza and Flaca and get that piercing you’ve always wanted or that hand-drawn original CUSTOM tattoo! And if you’ve got the “ex’s” name on your body (You need to read my Tattoo Do’s and Don’ts) Mujeres Ink does cover-up work to change that tattoo, they can also redo that faded tattoo.

Liza and Flaca are looking for EXPERIENCED and SKILLED FEMALE Tattoo Artists and Piercers to add to the Mujeres Ink family! Call them at 210-592-1656 to arrange an appointment or schedule an interview. Or make a new MySpace Friend at www.MySpace.com/MujeresInk
